Our line of nickel-free vegetables also includes two other tomato varieties, the datterino and the Piccadilly.
The round shape and bright red colour of the nickel-free ciliegino tomato are reminiscent of cherries, which gives this variety its characteristic name.
It has a firm flesh and a sweet, intense flavour, but is also rich in minerals, vitamin A and C, calcium, potassium and magnesium.
The nickel-free ciliegino tomato makes a very tasteful accompaniment to meat and fish dishes, but can also add kick to salads or be used to dress bruschetta and friselle.
It is also the main ingredient for the classic sauce used in Mediterranean cuisine, based on tomato and basil.
These nickel-free tomatoes are available from June to September.
