The thing that sets grappolo tomatoes apart is that they have a firm and juicy flesh with a sweet, delicate flavour. They are grown in specialised production areas in Emilia-Romagna, and are carefully picked and selected to ensure that they are perfectly ripe.
Containing high levels of vitamins A and C, they are best used as a base ingredient in sauces or to add flavour to salads. They are also delicious au gratin or oven-baked with fillings.
