Solarelli PGI Red Radicchio from Treviso is a variety of radicchio grown in the area of Treviso. Rich in fibre, they are deep dark red in colour with white streaks and have a crunchy texture and slightly bitter taste. Of all the types of radicchio, it is also known as ‘late radicchio’ and sets itself apart from other varieties as it has narrower leaves and a sweeter taste.
Red Radicchio from Treviso can be eaten raw, served raw with an olive oil, salt and pepper dressing, baked in foil, or it can be used as a base ingredient to make delicious risotto.
